Choosing a course in English for Academic Purposes

If you want to study English for Academic Purposes choose a course which is accredited. The people who accredit university Academic English courses in the UK are BALEAP (the British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes) and you can see their list of accredited courses here. (Some good courses are not accredited because universities often just have courses for their own students, which means accreditation is not necessary. But if you are going to use your course to help you enter university accreditation is important.) These links will be useful to find out about accredited university Academic English courses in other countries: USA here and here, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
