The deep freeze continues! But the cold weather hasn’t put off the student protesters around the UK who are out in force to try to stop the government raising tuition fees. These were the scenes in London today:
But whilst the British students are protesting, my overseas students are still struggling along with a paraphrasing exercise which I have given them. There are so many things to consider around the issue of paraphrasing and plagiarism that it’s difficult to know where to start. To begin with students need to be aware of the concept of plagiarism and when to reference. To this end I am directing my students to watch the excellent videos on paraphrasing and plagiarism from the University of North Carolina. The videos are fine examples of free quality educational resources available on the internet and you can read the transcripts too. The videos are available here.
