Dissertation writing advice

Lots of students I know will be starting to seriously get down to dissertation writing after their mid-winter break, and lots of students I know will be panicking about it! My first piece of advice to students writing their dissertation is to draw up a schedule with dates for the main things you have to do ending with the hand in date. Put it up on your wall and STICK TO IT. One of the most useful things you can do is listen to students who have just been through the dissertation writing experience. The STRIDE project (Students’ and Tutors’ Reflections and Insights into the Dissertation Experience) is a collection of resources which has been made available to help students through the dissertation experience.
